Theme Park Insider's (http://www.themeparkinsider.com) sponsoring a tournament for park coasters and rides. Go to the home page and the day's votes are right there in front of you.

Yesterday, Nessie LOST to Atlantis -- not great but not too terrible, as at least Atlantis is a sister park's ride.

But right now ALPENGEIST is in a ridiculously close race with Star Tours! Can you believe it!

Please, get over to TPI, join in the fun of an NCAA-like tournament for theme park rides, and support BGE's rides! You don't have to be registered at TPI to vote.

ALPIE must not go down in the first round!

this is caused by newbs who visit disney and think they are coaster veterans.

on a different note:
"Busch Gardens Europe showed the strongest attendance gain in the country last year, 12.5 percent, placing it in the Top 20, and knocking out Six Flags Magic Mountain. In addition to Magic Mountain, California Adventure and Knott's Berry Farm showed attendance declines."

I dunno... I think it would be the 2nd best coaster at Busch! and I like it better than anything at KD!

That whole concept of the random rides in a tournament is just... weird.

The original idea was for the tournament to be for coasters only, and that makes more sense to me, since it's hard to compare apples and oranges. But it's still fun and I want BGE to do well! Thanks for voting!

Griffon and Apollo are up against Universal's Jaws and Disney's Dinosaur. I am confident that they are better than both those rides so everyone go out and support BGE!

Most of the rides they are comparing are kind of random... but I guess thats what makes it cool. Like "Spaceship Earth or Top Thrill Dragster" or "Dinosaur or Apollo's".

The first round matchups have been strange in places, but the tournament will get better, as with any tourney, in subsequent rounds.

AC is too good to lose in the first round!

TPI really is quite a good website for non-inflated, balanced park reviews. This is their first try at a ride tournament. Personally, I would've stuck with all coasters, but, hey, it can be fun to see how thrill rides and coasters stack up against theming and things like dark rides.

Plus, after round one, the matchups WILL get better.

I hate that Nessie and esp. the Chariot were eliminated -- it was so close with Apollo.

Right now Montu is turning it around against Mr. Toad, and I hope it will prevail where Tatsu didn't. (Go BGA!)

But the TPI site is informative and they have, indeed, rated BGE best theme park in the world the last two years running. Previously, IOA held the top spot for a number of years. So at least the site isn't total biased love for The Mouse.
