If my maths are correct, I think Busch only utilizes 1/3 of their property there. Why haven't they expanded beyond there, because I'm pretty sure they own all the woods up to the river.

yeah its somewhere near that estimation of land still available. Sometimes i wish Busch would pull a Roller Coaster Tycoon and build 3 coasters in one year, along with a couple flats thrown in rolleyes.gif

I'm thinking along the lines of 60 degrees.

Lets go Pilgrims Plunge on this thing! How about a 45 degree drop into a large splash pool.
And instead of an elevator lift, teleportation will be used, as suggested above.
who needs airtime hills when we can have a 5 minute long drop and a splash?

I'm still kind of put off that they're putting it in a cul-de-sac area by FoF. Clearly, it's not that big of a deal because there's no need to make a pass through anywhere, but it's just so skewed over to where all the other "big-name" attractions are, save for Dominator. I hope they come up with a decent name, too. I don't want another "Drop Tower" fiasco....

Giga-Coaster 1 is really good value...

my guess is that theyre going to construct the entire ride here, then ship it all off to Carowinds. its the most logical conclusion

maybe it was banned for extreme profanity for saying the word "weirdass", and it hinted towards the observed demographics of a park.

There are reports of footer work being done, so I guess people can stop saying that it's going somewhere else. The ride ops will probably still lie to us

there is a really homozygous commercial on the airwaves recently with a kid obsessed with KD and that he needs to make it right at opening to ride taxi jam. He also says Americana Ferris Wheel in an even gayer voice. Can someone please blow up these advertisers? At least talk about Dominator or something worthwhile. And make it someone 20+.

Yeah that was pretty funny on In The Loop last night. FOF is using Volcano to signal the aliens. Drop Zone is their probe.

Yeah any day other than friday and saturday have pretty managable crowds. I can usually get on every coaster by 1 or 2 if i get there at opening. I always enjoy just moseying around the park and enjoying the atmosphere and the little details when i have the time. I'll be in Williamsburg from the 24th to the 6th so ill be around if anyone wants to hit up either park.

There are some good cheap-medium priced hotels in the area. There is a new Holiday Inn about 5 minutes away at a good price, as well as some locally owned motels and a very nice Embassy Suites. As for the parks, there is a ticket good for 7 days to both parks for around 70 or 80 bucks. 2 days is enough to experience BGE, but I suggest at least half a day at Water Country, especially if it's hot. Hope your trip goes well! If you need more detailed info just ask.

wow you've lost your mind. I understand how we all enjoy the real out of control feeling that wood coasters give, but i'd much rather walk out happy and ready to ride again, rather than walk out with a migrane and shattered spinal cord.

I wish if we end up with new owners of BGE, hopefully we'll finally end up with a GG or Intamin Pre-fab woodie.
And there is supposedly a guaranteed large project in the next few years, similar to the scale of Manta.

BGE has a "Coaster tour" for 99.95 pass members get 10% off.

details here:
http://www.buschgardens.com/bgw2/CP/?page=CoasterTour

They also have a "train tour" for the same rates as above

details here:

That sounds fantastic! Maybe we could possibly round up some BGEscapers for a day of ERT and behind the scenes fun?

I think this is amazin'. So many more front row rides for me. And maybe they'll let us go in the second row, since no one actually buys the pass

This is a very pleasant surprise for me, as Grizzly has always been one of my favorite woodies. May be reason enough to constitute an 09 visit. Sounds like KD is starting to make strides in the right direction

Oh and also dont anybody tell me tropical plants don't look right in Europe cause Italy has tons of palms everywhere.

Is Griffon in Italy? No. It is located in France, most likely not along the Riviera. I think Griffon's theming was done very well, especially the station. Is it as exceptional as Manta's? No. But Griffon doesn't have the option of putting fish tanks and such along the ride.

"Get your Snyder's of Hanover pretzels ready, heat up your trusty hot-glue gun and prepare for a wild ride. Snyder's of Hanover is partnering with Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Va. for "The Pretzel Coaster Build-off Contest" - a special roller coaster building contest that will be hours of fun for the whole family. Six finalists will win a trip to Busch Gardens to compete in the Pretzel Coaster Build-off Finals on July 16. Get crunching and get building - all entries must be received by May 31."

Sounds like fun! Should be cool to see how the winner makes Apollo's Chariot.

4 Platinum passes and endless supply of pretzels is a great prize for the winner.

nice fix.

this is unbelievable. I wonder how they'll rename the rides...
Led Zeppelin--> Fast Steel Coaster with Loops and Music

I have no clue what they'll rename Nights in White Satin to.
Acid Trip, possibly?
