I was just wondering, if a swinging suspended rollercoaster had enough g's could it pull off an inversion?

Maybe, but it's a chance I wouldn't be willing to take.

I think they tryed it once in BBW's pre-construction but the swinging motion created too many G's and parts of the train itself broke. It wasn't open to people then though.

What I was thinking was if they used the gaurds that help guide it onto the lift(s), around the inversion, being of course much wider at the opening as to catch it wherever it may be on the track, then I think it
could be possible...I'm not entirely sure, but I think it could be done.

thats what i was thinkin, but if u came into the guard to fast it would jar ur head too much, well it was just a thought b/c if like what if they did like a corckscrew, they would already have the swing but u brought up a good point to the cars having to much pressure

Im not sure, valid points brought up though... can you imagine bbw with a zero g roll? that would be amazing if it was smooth lol.

Another point to consider is if the train were to stall at the top of the inversion for whatever freakish reason, the cars would swing to the side and probably snap off. I think a guide rail on either side would be unreasonable because like what was said earlier they would have to be so wide at each end and they would have to be so much stronger and stiffer.
I just had a thought.... Maybe the cars could be equipped with a device that allows them to swing during some parts of the ride and not swing at others, triggered by special track pieces (similar to what is used on spinning wild mouse rides). But again, such a device would probably have to be incredibly strong to keep from snapping due to the forces generated by such heavy cars.

An inversion on a suspended coaster will pull a lot of G-Forces, and it will damage the shocks. I would rather just see it have tight turns will powerful swings.

Well, considering Arrow is gone and so is the suspended, swinging coaster gimmick, we don't really have to worry about inversions being possible

B&M could create their own version of the suspended coaster. It would be nice to actually see and ride a smooth suspended coaster for a change.

The prototype (before Bat.. at the Arrow plant!) had a corkscrew, as seen in the latest RC! issue

100th post!

! Had to use it somewhere. I love BBW's seats, none need changing.
