What is the best flat at BGE? I would have to say Darcastle.
tacoking
I think 99.9% of the people would choose DarKastle for this.
Nayrb
Yeah DarKastle, one of the most versitile rides and constantly thinks are being changed here and there on it. Though I'm going to have to mention that Turkish Delight comes in a close second place, sometimes u just can't help but go for a spin in a teacup wink.gif
Hepta
I like Katapult.

Scramblers are so cool. It looks like your gonna just smash into the other car.

Definitely DarKastle for me...I'm pretty much addicted to the thing and can't get enough of it. Half the fun is trying to pick out new details and finding new things you've never noticed before. It's an amazing ride cool.gif

Yous hould rename this thread "Who doesn't think DarKastle is the best non-coaster in the park" cause just about everyone gonna say it. BTW It's DarKastle for me two. I just hate how it's so cold in there. Water and all.
Fergusonat
^It's a castle FROZEN IN TIME, of course it is going to be really cold. I for one really appreciate the arctic temperatures when it is hot outside, I dunno about you biggrin.gif
Nayrb
^The worst is when you get to the pre-show section of the line and the ride breaks down. Talk about a cold room, espically when you're somewhat wet after your trip to senic Pompeii. Also makes you really want to buy that BGE sweatshirt you just saw in the store across from DarKastle laugh.gif
LadyM
DarKastle, hands down! LOVE it! Although I've not ridden it since the redid some of the scenes and stuff.
Joseph
The Train.
Dannyf8989
Darkastle was pretty sweet but its a tie between that and Da Vinci's Cradle... for some reason that ride scares me...
KPP
I only went on DarKastle, Tradewinds, and Le Scoot when I went to the park. I also went opn the coasters. So, I'd have to say, DarKastle.
Dukefan
For me, DarKastle, followed by Pompeii or Roman Rapids.

I love the steam trains as well. The railroad has a nice winding course through the park's beautiful scenery, plus its a great way to rest your feet.

The Skyride is great too...this type of ride is becoming rare in amusement parks.

1st post! biggrin.gif

The last time I was down there, it was a few months before DarKastle opened, and I haven't been down since sad.gif So I don't know what it's like, obviously can't answer that.

I guess my favorite non-coaster would have to be Roman Rapids. I love being on it, and I love squirting people from up above smile.gif
SES
For me,personally,it's a tie between DarKastle and Da Vinci's Cradle. biggrin.gif But it's sooo darn cold in the pre-show area of DarKastle. I went on Opening Day for it,and let me tell you,it was a little nippy in there. dry.gif
Nayrb
^Hence "Frozen in time" they don't mean the castle, they mean you waiting in line laugh.gif I got stuck in that room once when the ride broke down, I was a shivering mess for a good 30min. That's why I think the old way of having people enter the room, watch the preshow, and walking through the hidden door was such a better method (even if it isn't the fastest way).
Mit-mit
^ I was there when that happened. Yea, I don't know what I like better. Going straight through line is more effective, but the pre show...you got to see that awesome door that opened by raising up!
Fergusonat
I loved how you could screw over about 30 people in front of you in line who didn't realize the door was on the left side of the room laugh.gif I miss those days unsure.gif
Dannyf8989
^^ lmao i did the same thing, people were all lets go to the screen lets go to the screen and i was just pointing to the left and they were like huh until the door raised up... it sucked when they got rid of that lol
ThoughtIsMyArt
Gotta be a rebel and say DaVinci's Cradle. Such a forceful ride for being as small as it is. DarKastle was amazing, but when it comes down to it, DaVinci's cradle wins me over with it's wildness. Last time I was at BGE it was closed sad.gif
Flying Machine Freak
Uh hello - the Flying Machine is by far one of the most spectacularly exhilerating, all-in-compassingly fanciful and frightfully enjoyable rides in the park! It's somewhere between Apollo's Chariot and Alpenghiest on the totem of greatness. Far and away BGE's ride most prone to hyperbole! wink.gif
pmr12002
I agree that Roman Rapids is a pretty cool ride. My second favorite is Le Mans but obviously there is no chance of riding that again.
Griffon93
PMR12002 I think I'm going to make your day a bit better. There are very strong rumors that the cars will come back. But more than likely not as Le Mans but who knows? Elmo's Highway lol

ThoughtIsMyArt
I read somewhere that the Raceway will most likely be back but most likely not for 2007.
Fergusonat
Right now, there are a few of the Le Mans cars sitting along the train tracks between the Rhine River Trestle and Festa Italia as props for Howl-o-scream. They look pretty lame, actually
DarKastleFreak
Yet another vote for DarKastle.
If they would keep all of the elements working correctly and put a bit more effort into it (is there any reason why the stairway wall is still slanted?) it wouldn't be so closely tied with DaVinci's Cradle, Pompeii, and Corkscrew Hill.
Skyrider
Im a rebel. I like the Skyride, Go figure! laugh.gif For some reason I also think Flying Machine is a close 2nd. Sorry but DarKastle isn't my favorite. But I do like typing it on the computer! laugh.gif Im sorry people but i just don't like Da Vinchi's Cradle. I will ride it but it surely isn't my favorite!

Skyrider
Nayrb
Nothing wrong with liking the SkyRide, it is truly a focal point of the park that many people didn't notice until it was closed for the rest of the year.
Dannyf8989
lol come on, everybodys ridden the skyride at some point... My favorite is da vinci's cradle, that ride creeps me out and i love it. no matter how many times ive rode it (probably 20+ atleast) it still packs the same punch as the first time.

darkastle is a close close second, i like it because its unique. just wish there was more theming to the building than just the front...

Full Version: Best ride that is not a coaster at BGE.
