Hey, I was surfing the net and found video of Griffon broken down?!? Can anyone tell me about this? Thx WTF.gif

I'm having problems with the link...just google video "Griffon broken Down" it is the first one
buschfan11
All i found on the link was this: "The URL contained a malformed video ID."
rbcoasterfreak
I searched it and found a match in the URL, It's just a video posted by someone that didn't know Griffon held at the top. It wasn't broken.

Griffon is not a miracle coaster. It breaks down. I've seen them have to use the emergency lift before. I have a video on my phone of it actually.

Slightly on topic...
Being stuck on dive machine lifts is not a fun game. When it's cloudy it feels like the lift is becoming MORE vertical when the clouds move. D:

Indeed.

Hi, everyone,

I realize that Griffon is well maintained but, like all coasters, has had occasional problems. I seem to remember talk last season of riders having to walk down the stairs??? Is that correct, or would they use the lift BuschNut speaks of?

Honestly, I'm afraid I'd fall off in sheer fright if I tried to walk down stairs that high, unless I had some kind of safety harness!

In short, I guess I'm wondering, does anyone know what are the Griffon evacuation procedures?

TIA

I've been evacuated off an Intamin, and it was a very long and frustrating procedure. But this was at Thorpe Park, so that's hardly surprising.

They opened up the seats in my car and put a harness on us whilst we sat, then hooked us to the catwalk before we stood up. You had to push down on the clip attached to the catwalk to slide it, and i grinded up my knuckles pretty bad and got covered in oil. Stupid Colossucks.

I'm still baffled how the whole thing works on floorless, flying and inverted coasters. I've heard stories, but i just can't visualize it.

Thanks for that information. I feel a lot better that you had a harness and were clipped to the catwalk, even if it took the "hide" off your knuckles!

Hope some others will contribute their experiences ... I've been stuck on a double-wheeled Ferris wheel for over 30 mins (at the top, but the wheel moved the whole time) and on BBW on the second lift hill very briefly, but both times the rides ended up finishing normally, I'm happy to say.

Amen

But we made it not suck. Now it's a "have you ever broken down on a coaster?" topic.

And along with Colossucks, I got evaced of X:/WTF. That was fun. Because the lights came on. And indoor coasters with lights on is always fun.

Got stuck on Oblivion's lift. I got all excited when the guy came up. I was hoping for evac. And then he just takes some guys phone off him. I was like "The hell? This isn't America."

The end.

When I was like 12 I was on Avalanche at KD with my dad. The seats hold a child and an adult, but i was a little big for it but we said oh well it was just a little snug. We went on it and the restraint closed in on us when we were on it so it was really painful. Then the ride shut down when we were at the first mechanical bay for 45 minutes... ooowwww....
