We know that some of us would like to see new trains on BBW of the floorless swinging variety. Right now our only option would be for the Vekoma trains with the OTSR As Seen Here on Vampire. These new trains would have to raise the height limit taking away the idea this is many kids first big roller coaster with the lowest height requirement.

That may not have to be the case much longer. Vekoma has been trying more and more to make their ride concepts with options of being more family friendly or thrill friendly and they have designed a suspended seat with a lap bar:

While it's not clear these seats are made for swinging, there is no reason why they could not be adapted fo such.

A good thought in regards to the Wolf and I would like to see a train-style change toward the likes of Chessington's ride.

Several issues would become difficult in actually converting the system though.

1. Vekoma is in a transition stage of redeveloping its track style (and guage). The current axle/wheel carrier units will not be compatible with the current (Wolf) chassis designed (even though the Arrow/Vekoma chassis styles were pretty much the same). S&S will be phasing out the axle and parts system for the older Arrow products (with some exceptions of course) and it will become more difficult to maintain the ride (Arrow Suspended rides).

A new fabricator/supplier will start to produce those replacement parts, but not sure what company. Also, there is a new wheel assembly and bogey (coupling) change coming online so the current Wolf train will be obsolete (except for current order of parts from S&S).

2. Cost of transfering the to the new "floorless" style trains would also need lift and station upgrades as well as several other "minor tweaks". Cost will surely become an issue since the estimated cost of replacing those trains (and modifications) would be around $2-3 million. Or, about 1/3 of the cost of the total ride in 84. I doubt Busch will invest or commit into making those changes or upgrades, but who knows? They may do it in years down the road, but with all of the upgrades when I worked (maintenance) on that ride-they put about $ 2.5 million in all of the current upgrades (including the block brake area before #2 lift).

There has been rumors of lap bars on bbw because of the ride's bumpiness, but they'll need new trains because these trains are fiberglass and there is not enough space.

I highly doubt S&S is going to phase out parts support for older Arrows where there are still so many of them around.

As stated earlier: what about this being kids forst big coaster? This is the only coaster little people can ride, with Loch Ness after it. Many parents bring their kids to BBW for their first coaster, so new trains would ruin it T_T. Personally I think there should be new trains, but then again, it would leave some kids first roller coaster-less until they are older.

^Well the whole point is that Vekoma has these new seats that are for suspended coasters that are speifically made with families in mind that use lap bars that would keep the height requirement where it is now, if not even lower it any.

Some say that the mfg/supplier is going to be in Canada based on the availability to machine the parts quicker than some of the US suppliers.

I just visited the park on July 12th and I've never had a faster and more swinging ride on the good ol' wolf than that day. I was amazed how fast we were going, or seeming to, and how much of a swing our car had. My friend, who had never ridden BBW before, was amazed. While we were talking on the way back into the station, I mention if they had that effect with the change to the hanging coaster designed seats, it would make the ride much more thrilling, seeing your feet almost hitting the side of the buildings. Speaking of those buildings, it looks like Busch needs to do some rehab on the village in BBW, it's looking a bit run down.

^New shock package update and revised travel-limiters were installed on the ride. That, and in part the 'break-in' period should be near its peak.
